Join Robin Sussingham on an all-access tour of Tampa’s famous Bern’s Steak House. Bern’s Chef de Cuisine Habteab Hamde, affectionately known as Hab, led The Zest team through the many kitchens, prep areas, and specialty rooms that create the magic at this fine dining restaurant.
Bern’s Steak House was founded in 1956 by Bern Laxer and his bride, Gertrude (“Gert”). After operating the restaurant for nearly 40 years, the Laxer’s handed the familial torch to their son, David Laxer. David has been expanding the Bern’s legacy by adding the Bern’s Fine Wine and Spirits, Haven (formerly SideBern’s), and the boutique hotel, Epicurean.
