Happy New Year, everyone! In episode 36, we’re so excited to be kicking off 2020 with guests who are helping us get the most out of our kitchens and gardens. Food is such an important part of our lives and a lot of our New Year’s resolutions revolve around getting healthier, eating smarter, and cooking better.
Danielle Rose, the idea generator behind the food blog Suwanee Rose, teaches us how to use Florida’s winter citrus. Meyer lemon trees and other citrus trees are heavy with gorgeous fruit and sometimes we don’t know what to do with the bounty. Danielle shares her recipe for making limoncello and gives tips on how to save the zest and fruit for future recipes. We also made her recipe for Cinnamon Orange Pecans for the holidays and they were delish!
Then we get inspired by registered dietitian and nutritionist Wendy Wesley on how to eat healthier and have the right attitude to keep us from being overwhelmed. Wendy helps take away the barrier to cooking in a chat with Janet Keeler. Visit Wendy’s post: Kitchen Staples: A Starter List for Home Cooks.
We also hear from food enthusiasts like food critic Helen Freund (instagram: @helensavina), food bloggers Kiva Williams (instagram: @fun-foodie-mama) and Carlos Hernandez (instagram: @carloseats), and Grape Minds podcaster Gina Birch about what they are looking forward to in 2020.
