Michael Solomonov is the chef of the James Beard award-winning restaurant Zahav in Philadelphia, and wrote a cookbook of the same name in 2016, that also won the James Beard Award. Last year, he followed up with the cookbook Israeli Soul. The subtitle is “easy, essential, delicious” which nicely sums up its character. It recreates the kind of food that you might find in most Israeli homes, or in small family restaurants that serve the most well-loved dishes, and our cookbook reviewer Janet Keeler reached for that Israeli Soul after returning from a trip to Israel.
“What’s nice about this cookbook is it’s really a travel book; there are so many beautiful photographs of the cities, of where you should go and what you should eat…”
