Mixologists are breaking out of serving the same old boring cocktails and having fun exploring mocktail recipes. What is a mocktail you ask? Mocktails are drinks that pack a flavor-filled punch without packing any alcohol. These signature drinks are popping up on menus and at events to give adults a taste adventure sans hangover.
It’s really easy to take a traditional cocktail and turn it into a mocktail. Krayl Funch, a lifestyle blogger and entertaining expert, shared some tips and tricks on how to combine juices, seltzers, fruits, herbs, and simple syrups to make mocktails based on your favorite flavors. Also, Krayl talks about infusing ingredients, as well as, mixing store-bought and homemade ingredients to make mocktail recipes easy, budget-friendly, and more delicious.
Why are mocktails so popular? Sober bars are growing in popularity as more people are choosing to refrain from alcohol. The trend is helping to give more mocktail recipe inspirations and Krayl talks about some of her favorite combinations, such as her watermelon blueberry agua fresca. Sober bars are also becoming incredibly popular at home events, weddings, corporate retreats, spas…. everywhere basically!
You can find more recipes that work both as mocktails and cocktails in Krayl Funch’s book “An Appealing Plan: A Year of Everyday Celebrations” and on her website.
“The idea is to offer your guests something a little bit different for those who aren’t drinking [alcohol]…something fun so they aren’t sitting there with a cup of water,”
