Ingredients
1 1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup cold water plus 1/2 cup
1 cup clear Karo
3 tbsp honey optional
1 Tbsp vanilla extract
Powdered sugar or cornstarch to dust
Preparation
- Whisk 3 packets of unflavored gelatin with 1/2 cup cold water. Set aside.
- Combine sugar, 1/2 cup water, Karo, and honey if using. Cook to 250 F and remove from heat. Pour mixture into a mixer with a whisk attachment.
- Melt the gelatin mixture in the microwave.
- Let temperature cool to 220 degrees Fahrenheit. Add gelatin to hot sugar mixture. Beat on high 7 minutes. Add vanilla extract or other flavoring. At this point you can add food coloring if desired or fruit puree
